power valve cleaning problem.

Got a 13 pro 800 and was taking the power valves out to clean but cant get them out. The problem i am having is the stud/washer will not come off the valve Guillotine to remove the valve from the valve base. Any body have any thoughts on how to get it off or ran into this before?

Doesn't have to be removed for cleaning. I'm assuming you have the entire VES valve out of both sides, of course. Wipe up nicely under the bellows, it will easily lift, just be gentle, use green scotchbrite on the valve itself after getting the big deposits off with a dull blade or wire brush, and you're good. I also use Q-tips for the holes. Make sure they are not plugged. The purpose is really the burnt carbon buildup - that's what really makes them stick, and goo in the passages.

As I recall, it's thread locked on, FWIW. Highly recommend you do not remove, unless you're replacing gillo.

i thought maybe it was lock tight in there. The problem is the one on the left side i can get out because of the steering arm plus with the valve in there i can replace the gasket properly. Unless i'm just not looking at it right.

Remove the bolts on the bushing for the steering post. It will move and you can get it out.

Have tried moving the skis the right direction to get more room, then remove cap
then go after base bolts ? How's the valve sliding ? Smooth ? Or sticky gunky ?

It can be done. Patience and finesse. Steering bushing must be taken out for PTO, be gentle, the arm can bend down below, you'll see how you can wiggle the valve out. Goes in easier after it's clean.
