power supply ? for helmet light

I scrapped the stock headlight this year for more venting. I'm going to go with a helmet light for the few times a year that I need a light - probably the lead dog unless I get a lot of feedback telling me to go in another direction.

Anyhow, the little push button knob that controls the high/low beams on my King Cat has disappeared. I know that most companies recommend splicing the hot lead into the high beam wire. However, since I can't switch between the high and low beams that will present a problem (unless I get a replacement knob).

My question is - can I just wire this helmet light into the accessory plug's ground and hot wire? or will that cause a problem?

Also, does anyone know if you can just replace that little $5 knob part (#18 in this link http://www.arcticcatpartshouse.net/pages/parts/viewbybrand/3/ArcticCat.aspx), or do you have to replace the whole hi/low beam switch.?

It looks like they will sell you just the button, Know Idea how you would go about changing just that though. I cant see any reason you couldnt jus tie into the yellow/brown under the bars.
