Powdercoating tunnels

05 M7 that I will be powdercoating my complete tunnel and have a question. Do you guys powdercoat the cooler lines under the tunnel and rear heat exchanger. Can this stuff be masked off before powdercoating?

A friend of mine does powder coating and he always masks off cooler inlets and outlets etc,and I'm sure there is a way to mask off the total cooler if you wanted.I did my M1000 bulkhead and the cooler is incorporated and it worked out good, and no ill cooling effects. Also for example if you powder coat your better boards(running boards),the snow doesn't stick to the powder coating, weather that be a good thing or not for your coolers, that would be your preference.

The front cooler can be masked off a little, but the side coolers and rear cooler should be removed. You need special powdercoating tape that withstands the heat.

I did both my exchangers and the lines on my M. I took off the rubber tubes that connected everything together. Left it all on so that the rivets get coated also!

also doesnt the tailight wiring run along with the cooler lines. I guess it would be personal preference of whether or not to powdercoat them. Snow would still hit the coolers, just not stick as well to them.....

I cut the tailight wire before it got powdercoated and pulled it out. After it was done I used a piece of tie wire and fished it back through.
