Who do these new owners think they are trying to get $149/night for a room with 2 worn out old beds and windows that don't shut. The outdoor hottub doesn't even work. When I told the dude not a chance he then said he could do $99/night. Told him even at $99/night its overpriced compared to the other places in town that aren't wrecked. Great location but you can't charge 5 star prices for the old dump downtown.

cant go wronge with the days.... one nice thing to see is the new owner of the peaks is actually a sledder himself, seems to be getting a better program going. i couldnt get a room at days over new years and had to stay at sandman. $109 for a sledder but $169 over new years....what a terrible stay. they can afford to buy the best western next door but they cant afford a hot tub that works...bs!

I wouldnt pay 49 bucks....that place needs a bulldozer reno.....just like Abu's place got.....:D

Bummer. Powder Springs was tolerable for $29 per person with breakfast. Ain't gonna happen at the new prices.

Good to see others agree this dump isn't worth half of what they will drop to once ya laugh at them. Could be a very slow winter there. Maybe the ski dudes will keep them afloat...... Yea right........

so what kinda shape is the sandman in anyways?does the hottub work?haven't stayed there in years.couldn't get rooms at the days where we normally stay so booked the sandman.might have to book the super 8.

i quit going there about 3 years ago when i got a mild case of food poisoning at powder springs, puking all the way up the hill , stop back to complain, and they causally say "oh you must of had the eggs beny" never stopped there again.

I stayed at the Sandman last week, and it was totally fine. I think I might have been in one of the renovated rooms though, because I remember staying there when it was the Best Western and it was a bit of a dive. $119 a night if you ask for a sledder rate. $175 a night if you don't......

I also stay at the Monashee lodge, which has really nice owners, a hot tub, and pet friendly rooms. I believe last year I paid $90 a night, and that was on New Years eve. Not sure what it is now though.....

119/night is wayyyy too high!!! rippppppoffff town

That is the truth. But if you are traveling from far away and want a place to stay that is the price.

We are paying 118/ nite to stay at GlacierHouse but that includes two meals a day. Still way too high.

Stay at Moose Lodge in Cooke City for $29-$50/ nite....

the prices have definitely shot up since the ski hill opened, that's for sure!! the rooms at the sandman were $75/night before the ski hill opened, but not anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The good old powder springs, not that long ago, its used to be $17 a nite, add $7 if you wanted breakfast. Then is was a deal, @ that new price, even the skiers wont stay there.

call the days inn today and was able to get 7 rooms because of all the cancellations due to the high avy risk.hope the snow pack is better by the 15th.their getting pounded right now
