Powder/Fuel Keg install, pics and review on Proclimb

With the lack of space on the new Proclimb, I decided to pull the trigger and get a Powder Keg and Fuel Keg. I went with the low profile one as the other one seemed to "bulbous". Anyway, the install is straight foward and takes about 45 minutes. All you need is a drill, 3/16 bit, rivet gun and some loctight. Mount all the clamps on the PK and FK, bungee to the sled, slip in the brackets that mount to the sled, drill through the holes and rivet them on. One thing is make sure you have a quality rivet gun. Those damn rivets are some of the hardest I have ever set. You will break a cheap gun.

I really really like it. It sits a little high with the fuel keg under it, but actually looks really good with just the PK. The fuel keg holds 2 1/2 gallons of juice and you can stack as many as you like under it. The PK is big enough to hold my shovel, a spare belt and a bunch more stuff.

This is a well thought out product obviously designed by people who ride. It is strong as hell. I beat on it some when mounted and it didn't budge a bit. I am pretty confident you could roll a sled a few times on it and it would hold up fine. Plus, nice to be able to flip a few latches and take it inside.

Overall, I give it a 10. Pros-Study, Waterproof, efficient way to carry fuel and gear, looks decent. Cons- really can't think fo any.

Very nice product. Below are a few pics of the kit, and it installed on my M1100T with the FK under it and with just the PK.

You would have to talk someone who has painted flexible plastics before. I am not sure, but the tough part would possibly be getting the paint to adhere to the textured surface of the keg. I am sure someone on here has 2 cents to give:bounce:

I have one of the first ones that they made for a polaris in 09 and am happy to say it is still in perfect shape ! I love it. Plus you are buying from a very small company that is trying to make are sport better. They use what they make. Plus you will not find any nicer hard working honest people than Chris and Kathy. They have spent lots of cash to make these products. Molds are not cheap. Give there product a try as you will love it.

I usually rode with a pack on the M1000 with a few things under the seat. I like to pack some basic survival stuff. In 18 years, I got rescued by Search and rescue once and had to dig in another time for the night. Some of the stuff we had probably saved our lives, or at least some fingers and toes, both times. BTW, did you know if you break through ice into a deep creek and get the clutch soaking wet and try and run it half submerged, it will not engage at all? Engine just tacks.

Anyway, I like to pack as light as possible and for rides to close people, I can pop it off. If I go deep into the backcountry where not many people will be, pop it on and some fuel.

They make a mount kit for that same one to fit a 155"+ polaris dragon or pro too. I got this one cause it fits the cat and my current polaris so i dont have to get another one if i jump ship to a pro climb.

I think the Powder Keg was 247.00 and the Fuel Keg 135.00. I also got the shovel because it and the handle fit in the PK.

Took my first ride with it today. Had shovel, Avalanche probe, lunch, belt and a jacket. Worked perfectly. Even got a couple of inquiries at the trailhead about it.
