Pour camoplast warranty judgment

I have a 162 camo extreme track that came apart last season the first few rides that I used it. I took photos of it and submitted them to camoplast (Bruce Dashnaw) to get the track covered under their one-year warranty. The warranty statement says "Camoplast warrants new rubber tracks to be free from defects in material and workmanship sold by camoplast to its customers.
Well here are pics of my track coming apart, and now that the rubber has peeled off, the belting is coming apart. What do u think?
And camoplast says they don’t think they will be covering my track under warranty. It's their reputation on the line with such decisions. I don’t feel they are making a good one.
Should we be buying tracks from them?

At first glance it looks like an impact tore a lug off but the more you look at pics it looks like a chronic bonding problem. I would say most definately should be under warranty.

In the third pic, there is a good scratch in the next lug, that tells me you ran over something that managed to tear the lug in front off. The 5th pic shows lug damage on the right lug that's left. It is weird that the entire lug ripped off, but it didn't just come off on it's own, you helped it. I can see why they didn't warranty it.

Your right, hit something. But How often does it tear right down to the belting? If i hit somthing i would just expect the lug to rip off. And now all the rubber is coming off more and more.

I've never ripped off an entire lug, the rest of the rubber stuck to the track better so just part ripped off. I'm with you on trying to get it warrantied, but I can also see why they refused. Unfortunately, it isn't clearly a black or white issue.

Worst part is there isn't much of a second option with tracks! They got us, at there mercy! Hoepfully a win win solution for you and camo can be worked out.

How fast have you gone with the sled. I was racing a buddy on a lake with my M7 and about 100 my 141 Challanger flung a lug off just like some one ripped it off. Maybe that what you did.

On the groomed trails I kept the speed down, I heard that is also hard on the tracks. So its only been used hard in softer snow.

In the third pic thats not a scratch, its the molding line from when they built the track. and the 5th pic, thats mud, the lug is not torn or damaged there. got some new pics now. posting them

If there are no marks, and I do mean NO marks where the track shows evidence of abrasions, then you might have a chance at changing their mind. Those pictures aren't good enough IMO to decide. If I were considering it for warranty, I'd want to see it in person.

i have that same track. and beat the hell out of it in the spring on rocks and logs blahblah

lugs never rip off like that. usually just break at the base.

thats crap. at least if a lug breaks you can still use the track. thats not the case.

Thats not a scratch, thats the way the track is made. Mines the same way on every odd lug. Mine is brand new with new miles on it.

I have a 174 that is complete junk in 400 miles 2 lugs completely gone right together and atleast 3 more lugs spread out gone. There is about 10 more lugs cracked at the bottom and ready to fly off, the clips are a complete
joke and about half are gone.

I love the 174, but I'm pretty sure a new one will do the exact same thing,
and the price is bulllshiet...

What other options do we have, I asked for warranty and got laughed at
when I told them it was on a turbo apex running 18-22lbs of boost.

I may go back to a 162 and run a powder claw, I've heard they are holding together pretty good.

I can have Ice Age build me new rails and buy a powder claw for less than
a new 174, I don't want to reclip every ride and replace a track twice a year.

Whats everyone else doing?????

I am no expert but sure looks faulty to me.I tore the crap out of tracks before and they never looked like that.

Are these camo extreme 2.5 or 3 inch tracks , i have a 162 , 2.5 has been a good track , tryed the 162 , 3 inch had problem with it , but guys running the 174 , 3 inch seem to be having good luck .

The track clips don't just fall off. Saw that issue a couple of times last season. In both cases the rail tip caps were the problem. One of the tracks was too loose and the caps had worn down enough that the clips were getting popped off by the front edge of the rails as the track flexed. Clips are easy enough to replace but you have to check to see why they start coming off and fix the cause as well as the result or it will just happen again.
