Post dated check by phone! Wtf??

Anybody else get a call from a creditor about a late payment and have them suggest this? WTF who would do that. Isn't it illegal to do this ? It should be! I cant believe somone would suggest such a thing! I would never in my life call up one of my customers and ask them to do this. The wa y I see it issuing post dated paper checks is an icredibly bad idea trusting someone else to do it for you is plain stuipd if not illegal on both parts.What do you all think ?

How the he!! would that work? Don't you have to sign a cheque for it to be legal? Sounds shady

I have actually done it a lot. A phone check is not the same as a paper check. They just use your account and routing number to pull the money. It is a good way for them to know they will get a payment and for you not to have to do it at that moment if there is no money.

The way I see it that is the same as issuing a worthless check! I won't do it thats for sure .If for no other reason than I dont trust anyone at Wells Fargo they have screwwed me to many times in the past!
