He was fine, not buried at all. He just stood up and started walking around, though a little shaken up. He didn't want his sled doing the tumblelina down the hill so he doubled out and back in the next day with a turfer jack and rope and pulled it up over the top. A guy apparently died in Revy that same afternoon. Amazing riding that day.

Here's another:

avalanche

This avalanche took place about 2pm on March 27, 2008 in Blue River B.C. Photo is from police chopper.

Pics from last year

First pic is from Mt Baker, WA and second is from Brandywine, BC. Sorry the photos are so far away, but we hear and saw both of them, pretty loud and no one caught in them either. The Baker one was small, but still loud mostly because it was all ice. You can see how wind loaded that cliff is in the second picture, more came off about twenty minutes later.

I know Ive posted this pic a few times before, but it helps with realization of the hidden dangers. Made me buy my first beacon in 06'. Was my first ride on my new 06 m7 LE.

Great photos!

I am sending this TTT for all of us to see a reminder of what we saw in the 07-08 SEASON. I will leave this thread up but will post a new one for this 08-09 SEASON. Let's continue to throw photos of any avys whatsoever especially those old photos laying around or that haven't been posted yet. I created a new thread for this season.

saw that pic before and didn't click in that it was you sleddiot! We were climbing that hill a few days before you guys set it off, if you saw tracks over the top that was Larry on his stock 03 800 extreme. Never seen that hill slide till your pics.

one thing that many don't realize is the air that these big slides move. 10 years ago I was sitting in the mtn of priest lake eating lunch with a group of 6. a big slab cut loose on its own and came right for us. it was a huge slab in depth and about 2-300ft wide, it tailed out 100yds above us.....the wind that the slide sent to us was down right dangerous. if there had been any debris that could have been shot at us it could have been bad news. we were setup in a relativly narrow valley and never even gave consideration to a slide.......especailly since everyone was stopped.

remember the snow slides on its own too.

get a beacon.

get a probe.

get trained.

be able to trust your crew.

be smart.
