Possible setup issue??

Running a 2017 camso with the 2018 updates done. I have the kit installed on KTM530 EXC.

For some reason the bike turns to the left much better than it does to the right. Seem to have to fight with it to get it to lay over to the right but not the left...

Any ideas where I should start looking?

Mike

I have never noticed that issue with my Yeti. Maybe you are used to the snowmobile. I always felt better on my left side on the sled.

timber sleds always wear the left hi fax faster and just a bare kit always leans to the left on the garage floor, this is due to the fact that the kit is a lot heavier on the left side with the chains and sprockets and all on the left. I know you are talking camso but maybe that is all it is kit is heavier to the left????

The first thing I would do is put an ATV jack or whatever under the bike and lift the ski off the floor. Check to be sure your ski isn't bent or twisted. Check the alignment of your skegs and keels. Next I would move it through the full range of motion to make sure its the same side to side and that your forks are straight. If you don't find anything weird up front start looking at the back. Are all the idlers straight etc. After that I don't know. Post some pics of your setup.

as well as check how your ski is installed to the forks, might not be prefectly square.

I have seen where some KTM's have the weird front fork setup where one leg is for rebound and the other is for compression. Does your KTM have that oddball front fork combination?

I'm not sure if it was for RWU or USD forks.

Did you check the clickers to see that they were/are all even? Do you even know what/where they are set at?

At least with my 2018 DTS kit, I don't notice any difference between right and left turns/carves at all.

Perhaps you just need to strengthen up one side of your body?

I checked everything over and all ski components are aligned, suspension settings are same on each fork, skid components all aligned.

The one thing I did notice is when standing behind the bike the strut is angled slightly, the bottom of the strut is further left than the top??

Mike

Does your KTM have that PDS/linkageless suspension?, where the top shock mount will be off-center? Others with the KTM/PDS had to cant the strut over to get it to bolt up to the top shock mount boss on the frame of their bike(s).

Oil level in the forks the same? Air in one fork leg and not in the other?

Both me and my friend had the 2017 frame and broke them. Mine was the worst and it made the whole kit angled. Check the frame for cracks very carefully.

Camso replaced both frames with the 2018 frame and side panels under warranty. The 2018 is significantly beefed up where I broke mine.
