The following is a real request. Dylan is my boss' son. This has been a heart-wrenching experience for the family, but Mom is trying to turn it into a learning experience for her young teen age son. A lesson about giving, responsibility, kindness, etc. The surgeon, Dr. Grafinger, is the spouse of a co-worker on my team as well, so it's really a community project.
Whether you give or not, I feel that positive "press" about our youth and their parents, is always good to share. There is far too little of it these days.
Thanks for your time!!

Hi, my name is Dylan Harbaugh and we recently rescued a dog that had been hit by a car near Jacksonville, NC. The dog had a broken leg and its throat had a big cut and the skin was hanging down. When we stopped to help get the dog off the road, a State Trooper also stopped. He called Animal Control, but they were going to kill the dog. There was also another person who was there who was going to shoot the dog, but I thought the dog had a chance so we took it to my Mom’s friend who is an emergency vet. His name is Dr. Mike Grafinger and he runs the Triangle Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Durham, NC.
The good news is the dog beat the odds and survived the 2 hour drive to Dr. Mike’s clinic. Unfortunately, when my parents found out how much the surgery was they thought about putting her down because it was so expensive and this isn’t even our dog, she’s a stray dog who wandered on to the road at the wrong time. But in the end, I begged them to pay for the surgery and said that I would work hard to help raise the money needed to cover her bill. Thankfully, my parents paid for the operation but it was over $1,000 and unfortunately she may need another surgery if her bones don’t heal properly in the cast.
Please consider making a donation to help us help this dog. Every dollar raised will be used to cover the medical expenses. Every penny counts! The veterinarians at Wake Forest Animal Hospital are now taking over this dogs care and we really appreciate all the support they are giving.
Please help today by donating money. Thank you for your generous donation! You can see the dog in the YouTube video clip below.
Thank you,
Dylan Harbaugh
