porting

Buy the black diamond tool..cheap and works really great. Make a template, I made one from 3/4 inch hardwood with 2 blocks that fit in the track drive holes. I do 3 holes in the center section. Some times 2 more in outside as well. Does it work? well its 5-6 pounds off the track and seems to carry less snow when running..have not found a down side..never broke one with 200 hp.

How do you port a CE 162 ?? does it make a big difference. pics would be appreciated.

I made a template out a piece of mdf. It holds the two outside lugs so the middle holes you drill are always in the same spot. I used a 1 1\8" hole saw. Drill slow so it burns the threads and they don't frey.

I drilled three holes in the middle. The mistake I made (though it hasn't been a problem) is that the inside wheels roll over the holes. Make sure you measure the holes so the inside wheels miss the holes. Also, don't get all crazy with holes like ski-doo did so you lose too much floatation. Next time would drill two holes in the middle and call it good

umm :face-icon-small-dis turbo m8 ?? i'd put one hole in the middle, maybe 2 but thats it...lot of load with the turbo motors, really 1 middle hole to let some snow out is all if any you should need. My 200 hp sled weighs 420 lbs wet so it not a heavy laod.
