Ported the side of my fuel tank on my F9 Mod with 1 1/4" holes and immediatly lost 50lbs....but now sled wont run

Im bored!.....8 more cows to calve and Im free....just need snow.
I think the reason your sled wont run now is because you forgot to chamfer the ports when you were done. Just run a torch around each port a couple of times, and they should get smoothed out real nice.

....ported chaincase....that was probably one of the most popular threads on here back in about 2000/01....damn that was a long time ago!!

Well this is a funny thread as I just received a message from somebody with a XP who Sanded the black off his tank down to the clear and took maybe 5 lbs off of the 14 lb tank. He said it was a lot of Work!!!
Those that don't know the XP tanks are multi layer (bout 3/8" thick) to meet new vapor emissions rules.
The tank just flat drives me nuts as I have my longtrack mod TNT at about 380 lbs dry and I'm still lugging around a stupid 14 lb gas tank!! When I have plenty of time when the days are long and hot may build a tank out of .050" aluminum that will serve also as the mount for the steering column and eliminate the tubes running down to the tunnel. I figured that scenario out for a rev few years ago and came out would loose weight on rev tank which only weighs about 8 lbs.

i believe you have to adjust your fuel screws on the carb after a mod like that.
