Portable Table saw advice

Looking to purchase a new table saw. My current one has outlived its useful life. These are the three I am considering, keep in mind I am not a contractor, just a weekend DIY'er.

Rigid, currently $449 at Home Depot.

Bosch, currently $549 at Home Depot.

Bosch, about $650. Not sure it is worth the extra $ for the digital rip fence.

Consumer reports did a review a couple months ago and I can't remember what table saw they recommended, was thinking it was the Rigid.
Anybody use these, what were the likes and dislikes?

Thanks in advance.

out of those 3 the rigid has the best beefy fence.a quality blade like a Matsu****a really helps get a perfect rip.only thing is,i wish it had an off feed table for the long stuff and 4 by 8 sheets.

Here's the consumer reports chart. The Ryobi waas the CR Best Buy, but not the highest score (usually because of price).

I own the dewalt and love it...really like the rack and pinion fence adjustment. DeWalt also has an online parts store if something ever breaks (I wore out the motor after 8 yrs and was able to replace the stator and brushes for under $100...works like new again).

Dont think you could go wrong with any of the 15 amp saws.

At work we have the Bosch. It is a good saw. Only thing is the blade raising and lowering gear binds... saw it in all 3 of our saws. What happens is the guides get sloppy and bind. Service is like 4 months wait too.

I used the Makita, Awesome fence, reversable too. kinda loud I found.

I myseld have the Ryobi bt3000 It is an older model, but I still think they have it. It is a little lightweight, so you can't just slam your stock on the fence and expect it to hold up forever. More for Cabinetmakers... Super accurate fence, sliding table with mitre fence. adjustable fence for both sides, which the guides slide too. Router table plate, which the sliding table works slick with too. Plus the switch goes to a plug, so you can switch a shop vac on simultaneously.

Digital fence... well, I think if you have to resort to not using a tape measure.. I guess so. I would rather just use a tape myself.

The best stand is the Bosch by far! It has a good sturdy frame, and a deck big enough to wind your cord, and store your fence.. it is easy to fold down, and store with wheels.

IF you want a light wieght saw get a dewalt. We have two at work and they come with a foldable stand. Easy to cary and can rip wet lumber with ease. I Realy like it, has extra features you can buy too.

I bought the ryobi a couple years ago, because I was building a house and didn't want to cough up the money for the dewalt. It's been a decent saw, I built a house with it and have used it for quite a few projects. But it isn't a very strong machine, the fence moves as mentioned above, it has a slide that comes out to support longer cuts that has bent, and the power switch quit working a little while ago. If I had it to do over again I don't know if I'd get it. It's worked good for the projects I've used it on, but it has the feel of a throw away tool, and I'm almost to the point of throwing it away. However for the price, I could buy another and still be cheaper than the cost of buying some of the others once...

Buy the Ridgid. We have a couple on jobsites and they are nearly bullet proof. Been very happy with them and the fence is by far the smoothest and most accurate I have ever used. They are used everday by a variety of guys and everyone likes them. Here's the best part, LIFETIME WARRANTY, just take it back to HD and they will give you a new one. We have done this with some of their other tools and they replaced them with brand new with no problem. We have had the Dewalts and they are crude in comparison and no where near as accurate.

Sears (ryobi) has a portable saw that goes to 33" right of the blade and comes with a router attachment it is usually 750 (canadian) but goes on for 450. It is nice to move around and the fence is decent and accurate, great for home use and contracting, but not good enough for commercial and industrial use. It is very important to be able to have the largest cut possible to the right of the fence 25" does not cut it, 48"+ is what you really need, but impracticable. It looks very similar to marcusos. I have been using table saws for 38 years and now cough when i run any wood through it ( wear a dusk mask). http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00921829000P?mv=rr . Buy some rollers and place them around for full sheets of plywood or it will be a pain.
