Port or Pipe

hey i have a 07 m8 and am thinking about doing some mods too it for this year.. i was wondering what you guys think would be a better mod, porting and head mod or a slp pipe set?? i mostly boondock and do a little hillclimbing around 6000-8000 ft. also i want to try to stay away from using a fuel box. thanks!!

The porting is kind of a waste without a pipe.
You'll notice a hp improvment with the pipe, and an even bigger improvement with the pipe/porting together.

Ran my M8 for a season with porting and high compression head. Nice improvement over stock.
Added a SLP pipe this last year and like dmkhnr stated a much bigger improvement with the porting and pipe. Still happy with both options.
If you are considering porting you should get that going because there is usually a month or two turn around time.

x2 .. have all 3. If your looking for better throttle response with more 'useable' power for boondocking, go with the head/port. If looking for more RPM's/track speed for climbing, the SLP pipe.

Also make sure it's re-flashed.

IMO when you do all 3 you're then looking at a box, re-clutching, and possibly EGT/O2 to get the most out of it.

Pipe/Head/Port in the 07 engine is a HUGE improvement over stock. It'll make you smile from ear-to-ear :D :beer;

with out a fuel box the most you can do is put on a slp exhaust system, first thing I would do is put on a PC

thanks to everyone that posted, it has been helpful.. Im leaning toward the slp pipe set because its a bit cheaper and it wont take as long to get. Then i will shoot for the port/head for next season.. Cheers!!
