If bolt didnt fail it would under warr.! funny is if there wasn't a prob with driver why has part # changed three times in a year? that one bolt cost me $800 bones and two weeks down time:( Good news ! back together for now, droped down a tooth to a 19 should help for the deep and vert. also the new chaincase cover came in Mag. not plastic cool no more leaks!!!!!

You just aren't talking to the right people to get it warrantied. I've gotten over $3500 in parts alone warrantied over the last year.

Get a new dealer!!!!!!! Bolt broken would be a factory issue therefore case should have been covered.

I would like to comment but some of these statements are too vauge. Bear with me and let me ask some questions.
pooo won't warr. chaincase due to a bolt that sheared off of driver on speedo side of driver shaft Which bolt? There are bolts that hold the bearing holder flange on the jackshaft and the driveshaft drive pickup housing. Was it one of these?
a bolt that sheared off A bolt will only shear off for 2 reasons: something else displaced and hits it or it comes loose and the clearance is diminished. Which of these happened?
pooo won't warr. chaincase How did a bolt from the driveshaft area damage the chaincase?
If bolt didnt fail it would under warr.! Sorry, I don't understand this sentence and the point you are trying to make.
funny is if there wasn't a prob with driver why has part # changed three times in a year Is there a bolt in the jackshaft assembly itself that came out that I am not aware of that caused the problem? I thought the jackshaft assembly consisted of a splined axle with the driver wheels pressed on. If this is the case, your question has no bearing. Part numbers can change for many reasons, yes redesign is one of them but the manufacturer (supplier or facility) could have been switched for other reasons than a bad design.
Other questions: Mileage of sled?
Who said "no" to warranty, dealer or Polaris directly?
What was the specific reason given for denying coverage?
Mods to sled?
Service history documentation?
I really hope you can take the time to answer the questions I have presented. This may help someone else in the future.

sorry for the confusion, when i called my dealer about what had happend they told me that my bumper to bumper warrenty was up but my engine coverge was still valid july of 2011 . about driver bolt? turns out that the bearing was still inside the speedo housing and that the splined end of the shaft had broke and the driver had fallen down witch took out the chain case, when i told my dealer they had told me that my chain case would be coverd but that was it ,as far as milege i have around 2000 mi. on my 08 d8 with three top ends 1 up date and now a drive shaft:confused:i just need some one point in right direction as far as warranty, ill try to ex plian more got to go for now.

same thing happened to my friends D8, it cost him $1200. Glad to hear you are up and running again!!!! we finally got his running last weekend.

Ok, so the drive shaft sheared off... on the chaincase side? If they covered the chaincase then they should have covered the rest, unless the dealer covered the chaincase out of goodwill. My 08 D8 had the baffle break loose in the can, was rattling around, but even though it was a known issue with the D8 the factory would not warranty it. The local dealer stepped up though and came up with a brand new take-off can from a sled that went turbo. First ride out with it, it stunk like burning paint...

Word is that goodwill after-warranty freebie fixes are probably not going to happen. They dropped too much $$ on these updates. And it is not just Polaris tightening up - other companies are doing similar, times are tight, so beyond the warranty you are probably on your own. Regardless of if there was really a defect that the factory made. Sucks, but it sounds like you got something anyway.
