My brother-in-law and I are thinking of heading over to the eastern side of Idaho for some christmas day riding. He have heard of an area called helm canyon or something like that. So any inputs would be helpful. There is no snow on the west end of Idaho. If you know of a better area to ride rite now let me know thanks.

Pomerelle ski resort is up Howell Canyon. Some fantastic sledding is up there, but huge rocks are in the area. Pomerelles report for today is 22 inches, which tends to be high. I live less than an hour away and would not go up there yet. One of my truck drivers was up there Saturday and the brush is still exposed. They barely had enough for a kids sled ride in the parking lot.
Pomerelles snow report can be found online, I would not go unless the current snow doubles, or you hear a good, first hand report.

They always seem like they post more snow than they have.. At least the few times Ive ridden over there. But then again we didn't know the area very well.
I think that they broke off the first 12" of the marker before they set it. They set it where the snow drifts.They are always off
