Well just seeing how many guys are going to Fox Floats II

Or Staying Stock??

I really liked my Fox Floats II

I was going to make a poll.. just couldn't figure it out.. lol

thanks Crew

Marty Sampson (Polaris) and Randy Anderson (Walker Evans Racing) spent considerable time getting the stock shocks dialed in for this chassis.

IMO, these shocks absolutely shine...

Can you improve on them...probably for a considerable investment, but what will that make your $11,000 sled cost in the end and is it necessary?

To add to the poll...revalve by Curt at Fastrax...he's the only one I trust with my shock re-valving (no disrespect at all to Carl's).

For the price of a brand new sled I'm gonna at least try the stock ones first.....I'm sure they're passable LOL

Chances are good the shock's are going to be very low on the list of things holding back where I can take this thing.

The two things I didn't like about the Pro last spring when I rode it were the front shocks and the track... I've changed the track on my Pro.. Now I just need snow and sometime on her to see what direction I want to go with the shocks if any.. Need to see what they changed or went with in there production sleds.. But I do agree with modsledr the only one who will touch my shocks will be Curt or Justin at Fastrax.... Many are good but only one can be the BEST and Fastrax is the BEST...

I'm curious (sincerely) what aspects of the shocks did you not like? (EG rebound rate, pre load, compression speed on big hits etc)

I didn't see the exclusive Carl's FOX EVOL R and Zero Pro option in your poll. This sled may also get Renton Coil Spring progressive rate ti spring for the front shock on the rear suspension. Going to do some testing when the snow gets here. Info from Renton at the Puyallup show was very interesting. Did the best just get BETTER?

Having been totally ruined by how spectacular FOX Evol shocks are on my raw chassis the decision was pretty easy. RIDE THIS SLED...then decide!

That will be key, TO TRY IT FIRST! After riding the demo for most of a day, I wondered what all of the extra coin I sank into my D8 really did for me. They, of course, were all things I HAD TO HAVE in order to get my sled to the next level so I could out-ride my buddies. I really think MOST people can't even really tell the difference in suspension, and couldn't set it up properly anyway. Granted, the old Walkers were junk unless you put some money into them, but why throw good money at those shocks if for just a little more you could get the Floats. That's what I did. I think the feel of a good progressive coil over is much better than the air. Just my opinion. And with the ease of adjustment (or lack of) I could ride more confidently knowing the air wasn't gonna leak down, or if I should check it again before I load just to make sure. My vote is for the stock Walkers. It did help that Carl's threw the revalve in with my sled purchase:face-icon-small-win This sled seems to have in stock form, all of the "refinements" I added to my D8. Ride it first then start swapping s#!t. Save your money!!

The above post doesn't include, of course, the addition of Better Boards! Those were a must have and I'm sure will prove to be again:face-icon-small-coo

That's a tough question to answer, since 2 guys have actually ridden there sleds on snow!!

I agree that sticking with the stock setup is the smart thing to do because, one they are still very good shocks, and two after spending that kind of cheddar I would find it hard to spend more when you are running a perfectly fine suspension. But with that said, haha, I love the look of no coiler overs on shocks. It sounds really dumb, but those fox floats get me every time, now if I could just get over the price. So in the end I voted for the floats, but the inteligent decision would be to stay stock. Just my .02.

I'm not changing to air shocks as I want to ride it, not worry about how much air is in the shock. They spent lots of time testing these shocks so they should be great. :face-icon-small-coo

goin with evol-r's upr front and the evol-r/zero pro rear from Carl's for my sled. I ordered the standard rmk for this very reason. I really like the zero pros on the cats, and the float is good, so the evols should be great. also, I have no experience or know anyone that has any with the WE shocks. the few friends I have that just run their stock setups are the kind of guys that never touch their suspensions and just ride it the way it comes

EDIT-- also, I'm kinda huge and need a custom valving job and a good dependable shock. Not dissing the WE shocks, just familiar with FOX

Revalve and spring change by Andy at GSR for me. Being a Cat guy that I am, Andy really worked his magic on both my M's last season. So he will get my Walkers off my Pro for sure..

if the shock length is the same on the pro as the dragon and anybody is getting different shocks I will buy your walker evans coil overs
pm me if anybody has any take offs from the pros i think the length is the same 17 inch but i dont know
