I've said it before and I'll say it again....you need to have a separate political section. I don't want to have to sift through 50 threads about how many guns you're stacking up or how many tons of food you have in the bunker because your guy didn't win the election. I know the ones on here who constantly post political items won't want a separate section. Who will go there and read it? I know I won't.

oh wow, I have a great idea.
just don't read the threads you don't like.
I could care less about a lot of stuff posted there.
I just don't bother reading it.
Simple.

Fouled Plug is for things not related to sledding.
If you don't give a hoot, don't read it.
Why make things difficult.
It's not like there are 3 million posts each day in fouled plug this time of year.

If you are a Dem DONT READ THIS! Change is here :)

GOP upset victory in Delaware special election
Brett McCrae
Roughly one month ago Delaware State Senator (Senator President Pro Tem as well) Thurman Adams (D) died at the age of 80 from a bout with pancreatic cancer. There was a special election yesterday and the two front runners were Joe Booth (R) and Polly Adams Mervine (D and daughter of the late Senator Thurman Adams). Polly had two major things going for her:

1) she is a Democrat; and

2) she is the daughter of Thurman.

Legacy politics is the political way of life in Delaware. Beau Biden won the AG's spot because of his last name... nothing else.

Nevertheless Joe Booth won, taking a seat that was held by the Democratic Party for roughly 40 years in a state where the Democrats rule the House, Senate, and the Governor's office.

What is most remarkable about the win was the margin. Joe garnered over 60% of the vote in a heavy Democrat area and trounced Adams Mervine by 30 points.

I went to a couple of the polling places and the turn out for Republicans was huge. Far be it from me to say this is a bellwether, but I would venture a guess that the current state of local and national politics is beginning to bring out the conservative wing of the Republican Party here. And if it can happen here it will likely happen elsewhere.

The only state-wide elected Republican is the RINO Mike Castle. Yeah, that Mike Castle, one of the eight Republicans that voted for Cap and Trade. He had a town hall that was put on you tube and subsequently posted on Drudge. He was holding a Town Hall on Health care and what you see transpired. People (Republicans particularly) are angry at Castle and I think his days are numbered.

There will be another Special Election here in DE to fill Booth's seat he vacated in the House and we will see how that goes. But from everything I garner here, there is going to be a shakeup here in state politics that may translate to bigger and better things.

I was being dead serious! Abnormally cold temps and a front coming thru could have produced some snow in the higher elevations.

But yeah........Hijack!

actually it did snow.
Of cource nothing stuck, but it did snow.

I know that the vast majority of political posts are clearly titled and marked as political but they also have a strange habit of permeating other threads that don't have anything to do with 6 or 8 guys hate for the current political situation that the US is in.

It's not a big deal to me either way. THe point is that if you're not looking and getting involved in the political scene, half of snowest fouled plug is absolutely useless at this time. At no other time in my 5 years on this forum has it been so prevelant. THe worst thing is that it's usually some cut and paste article about how some "dumbocrat" is screwing up the way of life for the liberals left wondering what the he11 happened. It's all worthy news and it does belong here in fouled plug. The issue is it's now the underground 24 hour news network to counter the government loving media.

I'm just a dumb Canadian. Telling me to shut up and stop reading the posts doesn't work for me.

Would you trust any of you? I am willing to listen to people that are willing to be mods. They have to have a track record of level-headedness and following the rules. That narrows it down DRAMATICALLY to, like, two members.

I'm curious, though, do you find the dearth (not darth :) ) of mods here to be a hinderance or a help? Do you enjoy the reduced supervision or feel that we need more? Just wondering what your take is.

Darrin

I call BS on that one - I challenge you to show us even 1 level headed member during the summer months!

LOL, I'll leave that one alone.:D

Every year it is something.
Something takes over fouled plug and it gets people upset.
It usually goes away (for the most part) when the snow starts flying.

Yeah, sure...lets shove all the important topics into a corner so we can get back at the things that really matter like someone elses' half-naked woman or beer that we really can't afford.
The idea of starting a political section is like a person turning on really loud music to drown out the sound of someone dying.
If anyone's time is so important on here so as to be bothered with "unneccessary political garble", then maybe you'd be better off on another site that dosen't have so much to lose to those politicians who have it in for us and our way of life.

Snowmobiling to some IS just a hobby, but for me it is my career, my release, and my way of enjoying my family and to see this great country through the eyes of a free man.
:rolleyes:There, RUFFY, how's that for original thought?
