i wouldnt polish it to a mirror finish its a pain in the arse to keep it that way i did mine that way bout 2months before snow hit and it was all scratched up by the time snow flew so i had mine line-x put on a est- 5-7lbs was worth it to me. iam not one of those guys worried about 10lbs on a sled. i did mine in black but there are many colors available just giveing you another option cost me $250
