Polaris's Drive Shaft Fix

It is great to see that Polaris (with some help :face-icon-small-hap) has issued an official bulletin regarding this issue. We are very happy to see this happen and keep the riders on the snow and out of harms way.

As you can see from the bulletin I posted below, that it maybe until the new year until everybody receives the update kit from Polaris.

For those that are currently riding and want to continue to ride, We have a limited number of kits left that we can get to you in short order.

Please don't hesitate to call if you need a kit to keep you on the snow

Completion of this Service Bulletin is being expedited to ensure minimum impact on your customers’ riding season. Service kits will be shipped immediately to your dealership with priority shipments going to dealers in high-altitude regions. Our plan is to ship kits to update no less than 75% of your MY13 PRO-RMK wholesale order by December 24, 2012. We plan to ship the remaining kits no later than January 4, 2013

But, they should know they will need to remove your product when they get the Polaris clamp. Also in the same bulletin.

Don't worry about Nug, he's just upset since he was convinced that the clamps wouldn't work as a temporary fix, let alone a permanent one.

I think there will be shaft failures with the clamps. Hit me back in the spring, we will see who gets that big steaming bowl of crow. :face-icon-small-ton

Cool...

In the end... I know Kelsey and the others that made parts to keep these on the snow invested their hard earned money to have a solution to keep you riding.

Rather than throwing them under the bus... we should support our fellow riders and USA owned companies that add to OUR economy.

If you want to ride now, buy a collar from whomever you want... It all depends on what that is worth to you.

You will still need to have the dealer receive the parts, schedule the service appointment and drop off your sled for the repair. Polaris will NOT have the dealers send the clamps to the end user as that would represent too much of a liability risk if/when installed improperly.

Dont get me wrong... you should still schedule the Service and inspection of your original driveshaft... But do it on your OWN schedule and don't let it keep you from riding for a Benjamin!!

Ride on!!

.

I am still pretty sure it isn't going to fix it. But when it is free you really can't complain about it. I wouldn't buy it ever because it isn't a fix, but when its free if it keeps my sled together a little longer so be it.

Contacted my dealer today, and they said, "sled will be inspected, and only updated if necessary"...wtf? How are they going to tell that my shafts not going to brake. I'm sure the second shafts that have broke, were inspected before they were installed. I'm going to definitely push for clamps reguardless of how they THINK it looks. At least I have a set of Kelsey's clamps to fall back on just in case.

Tell them to reread the Bulliten. It says that any shaft with a gap between the steel and aluminum will be replaced, but ALL shafts get the Klamp

Dealer info

Talked to my dealer and he said that Polaris will be sending people who bought a 2013 Pro RMK will get a coupon for a gallon of oil.

is it a lucky gallon of oil? i guess polaris decided that a rabbit's foot just wouldn't do it.

it's a nice gesture though.
