Polaris Water Pump?

What is the stock water pump capable to withstand? Ive snowchecked a 2013 Rmk Assault, and I know from my last Pro RMK that these sleds have to little cooling capacity, and cant keep the temperature down on harder snow, even with the scratchers down.

I have considered the Van Amburd U-Cooler, or the Fastraxx cooler. But im not really happy about starting to cut and weld on the tunnel, mostly because I dont have any welding experiences. :P So I tought about finding a spot under the hood to mount a radiator with a fan, like this one for example http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-NYTR...37345&pt=Snowmobile_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr

But will the stock water pump be capable to push the water through it, or do I need a secondary pump or something?

Yo!

Cutting and welding on a brand new sled, yes.... Kinda not cool.

The pump will handle it fine, I say. I have rebuilt cooling systems to my own sick desires and no problems with pumps.

My Ultra/XCR has the stock waterpump blowing everything through a CMX cooler @9400 rpm for example.

When doing it all yourself you could run the new cooler paralell to the stock system, splitting the flow of coolant and making the pump work lighter since the coolant is flowing slower through the system.

You could put in the stock rmk cooler and copy polaris, would bet your dealer wont mind (might not even notice). Add some water-wetter as well.

FTX has a cooler that will fit in between the stock coolers at the front of the bulkhead no welding required

Sounds great! :D

I think the extra radiator would really make a difference in the cooling, and by mounting a fan on the radiator i can just turn that on, when i see the temp getting a little high. Just need to find out where i should mount it, to get good airflow to it. Aint to much free space under these hoods :)

That looks good, but does it help as mich as a radiator? Here in norway we sometimes get cement hard snow, with no loose snow to get thrown into the tunnel. And it looks like there is a extra water pump mounted on that cooler?

I'm using this cooler for my air/water intercooler on my turbo. You could plumb it in to the stock cooling without an additional pump.
