LMAO!!!!

Went into a Polaris dealer the other day and they had a 2001 Victory on the stand with the back wheel off and both spockets - Laying next to the bike was a box full of brand new parts, ( New rear rubber hub, New Belt, New Spockets ) I said whats the deal.............

He said its all warranty.................He said if you slam shift it without the clutch from second to third gear you can ruin the tranny!!

I said, How much does the parts cost......He said the kit is $1700.00 and all the labor is free too.

I said why does polairs warranty the 2001 Bike for six years and they won't fix the crank probem with the 800........

You see the bike people are a whole new bunch of customers they want to latch on to so the marketing TEAM opens the butt kissing program.

Wait a few more years and Polaris will screw the bike people tooooooooo!!

Just good to see indydan back on here. Polaris could kiss my butt a little bit by getting my sled here

Safety bulletins

The tranny is a safety issue in the bikes. Guy riding bike, tranny seizes, he wrecks and dies. Same reason tanks on edges and older IQ's that are out of warranty are getting replaced free of charge-tank leaks, starts fire, someone gets hurt. All companies are subject to this. Ford just released a safety recall going clear back to their 7.3 powerstrokes. Not Polaris's fault if the government makes them recall certain things.

I'm somewhat skeptical of that, just because fuel is leaking doesn't mean it'll catch fire. Same with crank failure, just because the crank breaks doesn't mean you're in mortal trouble...Unless you're by yourself in the backcountry and can't make it out. Or...if the clutch flies off and hits you in the sac, then what!? :) That's not too safe for the unborn children that you can't have now.... Point is, you can justify anything into anything, quality companies make their customers happy, not just their employees. It's a symbiotic relationship, if it goes too one-sided it doesn't work.

As stated, the government is the one who tells them what is a safety hazard and what is not. The tanks are deemed a fire hazard by the government, therefore they must be replaced. Not going to get into the whole 800 crank episode here, but I do agree that anything could be turned into a hazard if you look hard enough.
