So a couple weeks ago i was out retrieving a sled was a pretty cold day and the wind blew all day. When we finally got back to the truck at dark i go to open my bag and it is a little bit frozen, pull a little harder and the zipper rips off one side. So now my question is, is there a way to put the zipper back on so i dont have to get a new bag? Also, any advice so that this doesnt happen again?

If the zipper itself pulled apart, you should be able to open one end and reinsert the teeth/pull handle and then resew the end closed.

I think i am going to try that out... Sounds like the easiest fix.

Is there any way to keep the zipper from getting completely froze while riding?

Spray the zipper with silicon spray or WD-40. Otherwise with the exposed zipper on that particular bag it will continue to collect snow. I try to make sure mine is closed all the way and the zipper pull is caught in the velcro wrap. I'm hoping to keep snow out of the zipper mechanism that way.

If the zipper needs re-sewn or you need help re-threading the zipper pull, an upholstery shop should be able to fix you up too.

Have a water resistant zipper sewn in, it's ridiculous that the manufacturers aren't using these standard on bags used in a wet environment.

Got a couple couple local shops that i think could do it, going to have to look into it... OR the wd-40 solution sounds good... How often should i spray it?

Get the zipper fixed first if it needs it. If you anticipate problems with the zipper like deep snow days or real cold weather, spray it before the ride. Tri-Flow also has a high silicon content so it could work too.

Some of my buddies of mine use vaseline on the zipper....i put some on mine i dunno seems to get in there and displace water fairly good also
