I have a 2003 polaris edge, 700 twin, set up with a turbo from a mistsubishi evo. Battery runs the oil and fuel pumps, Battery keeps going dead. After testing and charging the battery we determined that the charging system is not working. (Bad stator) (or so I thought) I purchased a used stator form a local guy and when I removed old stator, the brown wires had been cut off of the side of the coils and ran directly to ground on the stator and a new wire had been run through the harness, supposedly this makes the stator charge better in a battery application. After installing the new stator and firing it up, still no charge going to the battery. (battery voltage is dropping .01 volt every few seconds while it is running) This is not a new setup, I have been riding it all season with no issues, battery tested good. But no voltage coming from the stator through the wires. Called the guy I got the stator from and he told me this came from one of his personal sleds and he knows it worked when it was tore down. He is very willing to trade me out of it, but is adamant the stator cannot be bad. Anyone have any ideas? I did ohm both stators on that side and got the same reading. .00 Ohms, polaris manual says it should be .015
