polaris to ski doo

polaris or rev

I have had a 2003 edge 800 144, then a 2003 Ve 800 159, Then I switched to a 07 summit xrs 151. I know where you are coming from. The rev will take a few times to get it figured out on where the limits are on side hilling and lay it over. It is different. I loved the ride and straight up climbing of the rev. The clutch set up on my xrs was horrible it took me one season to fiqure it out, then all the reading on here stated my crank would go out soon. I sold it and rode a 03 800 159 polaris with a complete slp pkg, thats a great sled, but sold it and now have a 06 summit x 800 ho.I know bla bla bla, after riding the revs you some how want to go back to them. Go for it see what happens, good luck.

While I never rode an Edge, I can't imagine it to be much different than the ZX Summits and I did own one of those. They both sidehill well but you have to understand that you need to be further forward on the REV based Summits for their balance point so you don't wash the rear out. Remove the sway bar, stiffen the shock springs and let her rip! The REV's are a blast to ride. I went a step further and cut my paddles down to 15" wide on the 16" track to get even quicker lay-over. Had I done that beforehand, I probably wouldn't have bothered with getting a Pro; really handles great now!

Have FUN!

im coming of a 2002 polaris edge rmk and im going to a ski doo rev. will the rev be easyer to side hill and lay over on its side.

cant say enough how well the new Alternative impact narrow 37 inch stance A arms work, Will carve with ease without giving up the 16 in track.A win /win

I've ridden a few Rev's. Most were not great out of the box but with a few mods they were great. The stock skis seem to always kick that sled back up. I know there were a few different models with different skis, but some Powder Pros with the outside cut in seemed to help that problem. Fox floats seemed to also help sidehilling over the stock shocks. My brother's Rev was also setup with a Holz rear.

I don't mean to bash that sled, I still recommend that sled for the $3000-$4500 price range.
