Polaris Tenacity Helmet

I thought it looked familiar. I'd say its the same as the 509 evolution helmet. Sweet.

I'm not to happy with my 509 helmet. Nothing wrong in terms of what you get for the money. I just think you get what you pay for in this case. Doesn't fit me well, it pushes my goggles down (just about any goggles) and I can't breath through my nose. The chin strap is too short as well. It does vent well though. I'm going to fork up the money for an Answer or Shoei. Just sharing my experience.

The 509 is made by AFX i believe..

negative, made by the same supplier yes, but not by afx, they don't make thier own shells. there is an hjc that is the same as well. from what i understand there are only a handful of companies that actually make the helmets. regardless, 509's graphic is not work the $100 more they charge over the afx.

Thanks. I've tried out the 509. Definitely nice looking. My usual lid is a Klim F4. Great ventillation. A little too good on some days. I also have a Troy Lee Designs SE. Great for dirt biking but it squishes the nose piece on my 509 sinister goggles so I don't use it for sledding. The main reason for my post was I was surprised to see a "509 helmet" with the Polaris branding. Still pretty cool even though they're over priced compared to the AFX.

The one thing I WILL NOT skimp on for the money in sledding (besides a beacon) is a helmet. I run a Fox V3 helmet, made out of Carbon Fiber and Kevlar, weighs nothing and after cracking a HJC helmet I won't ever skimp again. I'm stoked Polaris partnered with 509 on their helmets and goggles. I'll be ordering both next year.

I got sucked in to the 509 marketing game. Helmet, 10 pair of goggles (for the family) and they are the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. Cheap feeling helmet, goggle lenses that are brittle and survive 1 or two rides and not to mention the endless fogging.

Never again.
