I have a 2011 switchback assault 800 with 2 inch lug (if that matters) and I need to know what I would need to set it up for 10,000 ft elevation. I need help fast and the right answers!

thx Jake

You will need to replace the springs in both the drive and driven clutch as well as the weight change mentioned above. I assume the gears are the 20/42, which was stock on the 2" track. If not, you will need to replace those as well.

Clutch Weights(elevation):
8,000-10,000 ft-->10-60
10,000-12,000ft-->10-58

Drive Clutch:
8,000-12,000ft-->Black Spring(140-330) part#7043342

Driven Clutch:
6,000-12,000ft-->Black/Purple Spring(160-240) part#7043363

Gearing:
20T top gear
42T bottom gear
72P chain(should be the stock chain)

Helix:
0-12,000 stock helix (64/42-.36)

Hope that helps.

yea that is what they reccomend but i found out on that clutch that most guys just switch the weights i found that same exact sheet with all the elevation requirments last night but thx for ur help!

I followed that supplement list for 10-12K and it ran flawlessly. Same sled, same track, 19-42 gearing, replaced both springs and weights.

You said you recommend changing the springs when you go ride in higher elevation. are those different spring gonna effect anything when your riding around home or in the lower elevation?

Clutch Weights(elevation):
8,000-10,000 ft-->10-60 (pn 1321587)
10,000-12,000ft-->10-58

Drive Clutch:
8,000-12,000ft-->Black Spring(140-330) part#7043342

Driven Clutch:
6,000-12,000ft-->Black/Purple Spring(160-240) part#7043363

Gearing:
20T top gear
42T bottom gear

Helix:
0-12,000 stock helix (64/42-.36)

Hope that helps.
I am heading West in a few weeks as well.

Debating on cutting some corners here but from the looks of my stock gearing (23, 39) it might not be a good idea. since my main riding is going to be 7k-9k though I think I am going to run 10-62

Yeah I thought about it as well. However, by the time you pay your way there I thought why do it half assed. I plan on going annually so might as well bite the bullet now. If you get out there and it doesn't work, then what? Spend a few hours and more money to do something you should've from the beginning? My .$02
