Polaris Side Panel Vents

Has anyone put the Polaris Side Panel Hot Air Elimination Kit (vent) on there sled? I ordered them with my sled and now that i have them really don't know if i want to use them or not. It seems like they wouldn't be very hard to tear them in the trees. They look nice and would definitely help with underhood and belt heat. Do they keep the snow out it seems like it's just a mesh?

We added venting to two 2011 Pros. We are not going to add any to the 2013.
IMO it's a waste of money. But that's just me.:sorry:

based on my experience with my M series (i know, i know... different beast) but the side vents were a waste of money.. the gauge lifter and headlight delete let out tons of heat though

vents

i put them on my 012 and im not going to on my 013, they wear around the edges and fray also snow would get in the clutch side though the big big vent in deep snow and make my belt slip

I had the Polaris vents on my 2012. They suck! Vents with aluminum frames. Come on Polaris we roll our sleds over to get un stuck. The aluminum frames bend and look like **** in a hurry. No vents on the 13 for me unless I go thru belts from heat. Well see.

I was going to get a set of mo flows but I decided to get a gauge cage which should eliminate a ton of heat, chimney style. I just don't want to risk the vents looking like junk or breaking altogether. Plus I haven't heard a ton of overwhelming reviews in favor of them.

1500 miles on my 11 with no vents. 2 belts so far.....one new one at the beginning of each season ....just because. The Pro does not eat up belts. This year I will have a Wildchild vented gauge lifter, but mainly because of the gauge relocation.

Have not heard of mo flows.
Product link or anything?

Installed a gauge cage from AMP. No vent kits. Running temp around 115-125 :face-icon-small-hapon average.

Vent kit

I put a set of Gill Vents on my 11' Pro seemed to work very good. Gills are pointed back with mesh on the inside. Just can't bring myself to cut holes in my new 13' Retro. time will tell the difference when we hit the deep and steep.

I've always run the ModRods vents on my Pros... They hold up REALLY well ( took my panels from my 11 onto my 12 so going on two years of hard tree riding and not a crack in the plastic or a tear in the mesh!!). Also, yes, you need a very tight mesh material behind the outer mesh on the clutch side!! ModRods vents have them...

Pic of the vents on my sled.... after 2 years of tree riding!

Thanks for all of the info. i decided not to use them. I never had any belt issues on my 11 pro and hopefully have none with the 13. I am putting a vented gauge lifter on it though.
