I had a rad 76mm stroke crank in a box for a polaris 925. it was in awesome shape ready to go. it was wrapped in a towel and somehow it got soaking wet and sat for a year. the crank has rust on it in spots. the upper rod bearing surface is totaled out from rust. does anyone know you can get rods and rebuild the rest of the crank ??? I will try and get pics soon thanx .

I would try contacting Indy Dan, of Indy Specialties. He had some rad parts on Ebay a while back, may still have what you need.

Just a heads up that PSI stuf is junk and has been for 15-20 years, Bruce never does deliver what he promises.

Huh. I have a PSI based 850 ultra motor that ran just fine for 10 years before i rebuilt it due to noisy pistons. Still outperforms most 800 class engines of today and its 16 year old technology. Dad has a PSI worked storm motor that is older than that, still running. Over 8000 miles on mine, probably close to 5000 miles on his. But i guess tha is kinda crummy compared to the 1500 these newer STOCK engines get before rebuild is required...

Consider yourself one of the lucky ones. I would wager better than 90-95 percent of the crap that leaves his shop never makes the HP he claims. And most of it is based on untried parts that do not live up to his marketing hype. You are the only person on the forum to have ever stuck up for his crap. Good on Ya!

Wouldnt say im sticking up for anyone, and i know the buisiness went downhill real fast a few years back (is it even still opperating?), but the stuff PSI offered when Joby was there just plain worked. bruce may have owned the place, but Joby made it what it was when i built my engine. But, again, that was long long ago. LOL!

Guess if im sticking up for anyone, it would be Joby. But, im not even sure where he is these days.

psi junk.

I know alot of the **** is junk ! i would agree to that. ive gotten a good part of it! I really dont know why i keep on it though. I had a v.e.p. 925 that was ported way wrong and wouldnt run over 7800 rpm. but maybe its because I now have a non v.e.p. 925 that runs like a dam wild cat at 8500 rpms all day long for 4 years now. And i would say its making the hp he says it does. it has been more reliable that these newer arctic cats and skidoos that have been blowing up straight off the showroom floor !! any POSITIVE ADVICE would be great !

Never really ran there products, but I did have older 720 BB D&D cats and there pipes worked way way way better then what SLP/D&D/BM were using and the pipes where built for 5/600 and they built good HP on all the motors.
As for there newer stuff I know my buddy can't keep his $20k 1800 together for the life of it and they won't back him on it.
But I have seen the older stuff built off mainly polaris motors and they all held up.

I ran a 925 for years if set up correctly they ran great if not then they sucked just like any other mtr . I have a spare crank but it needs 1 rod brg due to a oil pump failure after 6 years of hard use .

Twister is still around. Louise was in a serious crash on a drag bike a year and a half ago or so but has recovered well and is back in the shop.

I would second the Indy Dan suggestion, he has 995 cranks on Ebay and may have what you need for it. Good Luck

Yep, was in his shop a few months ago. Looks like he's busy. I'll continue to bring him my crankshafts in the future, he's great to work with.
