Polaris Pro For bigger guys?

Hey guy I currently have a 2009 M1000 well I think it is time to upgrade. Anyways I am 6'6" around 300LBS how are the pros working for the bigger guys?

I rented a new M8 this weekend in cooke city and the sled really fit me well but I really like the looks of the pros and I think I want a change from cats.

Right now I am looking at either a pro or a new Ski Doo XM

same here...6'6" and 285, 2.5 inch riser, best sled i ever had...period...oh you will definately need the heavy rear optional spring, other than that your good to go. But ride um all first as there are pretty much no bad sled choices in the mountain market nowadys...:face-icon-small-hap

i AM ABOUT YOUR SAME BUILD. Mine seems to be holding up well. The new polaris rinning boards are much stiffer than the cats. I can flex my 11 M8 running boards, I stand on one side of the PRO with all my weight and there is no movement.

the 11 worked well for me, and the 13 is even better. I'm 6'2" and around 300lbs. I can only imagine where this sled will go if I start dropping weight from myself

If I were to buy a 2013 sled today I'd get the XM. I ride a 2012 pro rmk and a few riding buddies are on the XM. The XM is a very good quality machine while the pro is put together very cheaply. The engine is far superior on the skidoo as well.

I love my pro, but I've had a few issues that have made a few frustrating days. I'm glad I didn't buy a 12XP, but the XM is a far better product.

Ride the XM and Pro before buying! Personally I think it would be crazy to buy a 13 pro rmk right now with all the driveshaft and belt drive problems! Think about the resale on the 13 pro RMK's, I'm thinking my resale for my 12 is increased now thanks to all the 13issues...

My 2cents anyway.

There are a couple options out there for bigger guys like you. Talk to Boondocker or Silber!

Hey just outta curiosity, how did the new M8 handle? I hate the looks but I stepped on one in the showroom and it felt like it put everything in the right place. Seems like it would be very comfortable ride?

The M8 was very comfortable to ride for me. Very tall bars and and over all was very comfortable. I only rode it for one day so was not really use to the handleing if it. the only bad thing that I did not like about the M8 is when I would hit a trench with it I would be thrown into a whole different line and made it hard for me to climb when there were trenches. If that makes any sense.

Size

Some good options out there! I'm 6 4" and 250lbs dry! I've been shopping also for a 2 smoke! Tried the xM and cat this weekend. Both awesome! XM would really need better springs and shock for my size! Found Cat felt very well built 'tight' and rode sweet over trail bumps. It's a tuff decision but durability is a huge factor for me!

pro all the way in my opinion

I have a buddy that is 6'-5" and 375lbs, he has been riding pros last 2 yrs and can keep up with just about anyone, he is adding a silber turbo at the moment to even the playing field a little more, the pro gets up on the snow better than any sled out there, even most doo riders will admit this if they're honest with themselves, I used to be one. Everyone has a preferance, you honestly can't go wrong these days, ride all three in as many snow conditions as you can and get what you like best. I am 6' and 275 with gear and I am on a pro last 2 yrs also, I leave alot of guys at the trail, they can't follow in the deep and trees. If your a point and shoot guy I'd look towards more HP, from a turbo, or a cat or doo, but for all around mountain riding I think the pro wins in my book. As far as the above post saying Pro's are made cheap, I don't think carbon frame structures and industry leading innovations are cheap, they did have a slip with a sub-contractor making the driveshaft, but when you lead the pack your gonna have a few fixes. As far as quickdrive belts stripping, if the break-in procedures were followed you shouldn't have a problem, There is not one that has failed among my riding group. Also in the group are a few boosted pros, some now with over 500 miles, and no issues, you be the judge? Good luck on your choice.
