Does that spring 126/345, give you a little less engagement? I know on my m7 I put their gold spring in and dropped engagement down to 3500 which was perrrfect. I also need more rpm on top. But since there is no way to crank up the secondary spring on the polaris, I'm looking to get 200 more rpm thru the primary. I tried 60, 62 and 64 gram weights. Got the 62's in now, and they are the closest. So Im thinking going a little stiffer on the top spring #s. Shooting for 8200 right????

Here is the Spring, clutch chart from Polaris for the Pro

0-2000' - Drive clutch shift weight 10-68
2000'-4000' " " 10-66
4000'-6000' " " 10-64
6000'-8000' " " 10-62
8000'-10,000' " " 10-60
10,000'-12,000' " " 10-58

The drive clutch spring is 140/330 (7043342) for all altitudes
The driven clutch spring is LH Black Team for 0 to 8000' then LH Black/Purple for 8000' to 12,000'
The driven Helix is 56/42/.36 LW ER (5135403) for all altitudes
Chaincase gearing/pitch is 20:42 with 72 pitch for all altitudes

You can crank up the secondary pressure, they make many springs for it..yes 8200...i run black/purple with 2 delrin washers in mine

with the titanium spring I enguage at about 3750ish....also check both your primary and secondary belt initial side clearances..most are way off and this tends to affect low rpm enguagement as well, as clutch has to move more before it grabs hard enough to move sled....you have to shim both primary and secondary to adjust this or buy a primary cover that allows you to move the sheaves to allow you to move the sheaves.

the lower and smoother you want the primary to enguage the more critical the side clearance becomes as your dealing with much less effective change in pressure to get the clutch to move

Now It is best to adjust the secondary for the proper shift speed and back shift first, remember that the secondary moves by torque senceing and it is not rpm dependant like the primary, increasing secondary spring pressur is a last resort for rpm (not sayin you dont need more pressure) but just thats its the last thing to change....even after helix angle on the finish. Engine rpm should be able to move by the primary weight only. I'm a tad conerned over the fact that you state that the rpm would not move higher when you went to a 60 from a 62, this in all cases should have moved the rpm up the scale......if it did not and you raise pressure in the secondary you are in effect limiting the distance the belt shifts out in order to basicly "put more gear in the sled" thus seeing more max rpm, but if the engine is now over the HP peak you will have less torque available even if your turning more rpm....

Do you have aaens clutch book?? GREAT read

The 60 gram weights would over rev and hit the limiter especially when the track unloaded. The 64 grams would not hit more than 7800 rpm. The 62's will hit 8000-8100. I'm at 4000 - 6000 feet. 155 track. Im thinking about dropping a tooth on the top gear.

ya i'm bettin 1 tooth and the 62's would do it, or just find a friend with a accurate gram scale and grind 1/2 gram off of the 62's, check ,1/2 more if needed.....better yet get the slp mtx's and dial her in perfectly ;)

brain fart did not think about the 60's problem was over reving
