Polaris hand warmers

I find the polaris hand warmers to be quite poor. What are some options for improving them? The ski-doo warmers will almost melt my gloves it feels like. Can you cork the polaris ones and still have the stock grip fit over top?

16 or 17 axys? I dont ever recall my hands being cold last year but I notice on my 17 this year that I cant leave my warmers on high for very long and they are too hot to hold onto. This is in 10-20*f weather with thin (power cross klim) gloves on. Eric

Just corked mine last week and it makes a huge difference, stock grips will go over but mine were pretty tough to do. I had to use some wd-40 and air to get mine to slide on. The warmers actually do work well its just the aluminum bars that rob all the heat. When you peel the warmer off start your sled and feel them. They get ridiculously hot.

corking is the way to go! I used some light electrical tape also on the outside of the heating element just to help with getting the grip back on and not buggering everything up (had to use air and everything went on smooth).

Just did this the other day. Take grip that is off and heat with a heat gun to get it to soften and expand a bit. Spray heater grip with simple green or some type of soap. Then you can slide them right on with no air gun.

I bought cork that was marked as 1/16" thick but it was actually closer to 1/8" thick, I thought it was too thick to use. So I went to Napa and bought some Fel-Pro karropak paper gasket material. They had big rolls of it in the back, 3$ a square foot and it's slightly less than 1/16". Glued that to my bars with grip glue then put on RSI hi power heaters, should be nice and toasty.
