Polaris Dealer Service Screw Ups

I installed the Skinz front bumper kit today and discovered I had a oil leak from the base of one of my exhaust valves only to discover that there was no gasket installed since my update was done on my 09 D8. Any one else have a good service screw ups worth telling?

I found after they did mine that when they put the plastic cover back on over the electronics the harness was not in the correct spot and it rubbed through the wires

i took my dragon under warranty in for bottoming . i have ridden since i was 4 and like the rest of you know when the the center shock is blown . the dealer even has a trail system to try it on . they insist it it the front ones and that i need more ski pressure . i tried to tell them that it was NOT the fronts but they did them anyway . also in for a surge issue , which they just did a reflash for . needed a stator found by another dealer . anyway the thing comes back bottoming like i knew it would and the ski springs were so tight you couldn't ride it . and to top it off they put a nice scratch in my side panel . i took it apart and paid 100.00 to get the shocks done so i could ride it .

mechanic screw ups

my 09 after updates made it 2 miles then I thought it blew, when I opened the hood the exhaust manifold was holding on by two bolts nearly backed out completely, we found a few in the belly and had to buy a couple, he either forgot to tighten them or wanted me to be the lightest one on the mountain:face-icon-small-hap, pissed off at first but an easy fix no harm, also I was alittle pissed off that both our 09 updates reused the exhaust gaskets, they were just gooped with silicone, two different dealers also, whatever I suppose poo saved a few bucks on all the updates, makes me wonder if they replaced any gaskets at all????

That is the exact reason I insist on doing my own work. Everyone is entitled to make a mistake, but when your service guys are interested in nothing but trying to beat flat rate it only increases the chances that something will get missed. Who ever invented flat rate deserves a good swift kick in the cahoonies. When I do it myself I only have myself to blame.
My motor mounts weren't tightened from the factory. Re assembling the motor yesterday I discovered the factory didn't even have the oil pump lines routed correctly. Not that it really matters, but the Polaris service manual indicated they were wrong. Everything is rush rush rush and no one takes pride in what they do anymore.

local dealer failed to notice huge hole in chaincase cover while doing 09 updates, gave it back "ready to ride", was changing the oil in the chaincase(luckily) and saw it, brought it up to the dealer, they said "you have a 50 dollar deductible but a new cover is 48 bucks, sorry, gonna have to buy one"

round two, still dealing with this one
the can they told us that is considered stock(slp/polaris) has obvious signs of defects due to workmanship, they gave us a new one "free of charge/warranty", cool, walked out the door and 20 minutes later they called to let us know we owed them 250 bucks... lmfao, what a joke
