Polaris bumper paint issue

Well figured I would post to see if anyone else is having the same issue. 3 rides in and the paint on the rear Polaris bumper is flaking off and bubbling! This bumper was snow checked with the sled.

Actually the paint is coming off the running boards and spindles on mine. My 15 still looks like new as I expect those boards are powder coated. The 16 must have cheap paint.:face-icon-small-dis

I'm worried about mine as well, mainly because I seem to polish my tunnel with trees branches and pine sap.
Seriously though I have a spot that never gets touched on top of the tunnel that is flaking.
Oh well.
Thinking a wrap would be much better than the factory paint.

I opened this up, expecting to see a whiner. That is actually pretty bad.

hahahahahah!!! Ya usually I just move on to Powder Coating but sucks that it is just coming off and think Polaris needs to know. Not that it will change anything!

Have not rode mine yet but have the stock rear not he upgraded accessory one that you show. I'm in the process of painting over top the black stock color so it matches my graphics.

Well first off.....that sucks!! Hopefully they take care of you!!

But I had a follow-up question reference your bumper. When I looked at it, I first thought, its on upside down, so I checked the Polaris website. For the Axys they show that bumper mounted grab bar down but for what looks to be about the same bumper for the Pro, it's mounted grab bar up??????

Not that this changes the fact that the paint sucks, but more of an observation.

I believe I saw you were running the Ultimate front bumper in blue too? How is that holding up?

Is it just me or is there no aluminum primmer on there. From pic it looks like straight paint to raw aluminum. If I'm not mistaking it takes a different process to paint aluminum. Maybe someone with more knowledge about painting can chime in. Either way it is not right.

I thought it was upside down also!

I have no ride time on mine yet. When I installed my blue rear bumper I noticed the paint pop in a couple spots around the nuts. You could actually hear it pop. Will have to see how it holds up.

The bumper is not upside down and we had some conversation on another thread. This is how the 16 bumper is made, it is aligned to the snowflap.

I just put the same bumper on my sled noticed a tiny chip in it probably gonna end up having to get it powder coated eventually.

Stopped by the dealer on 11/24/15, they took pics and submitted it but I still had a couple rides to do, It got way worse! Received a call last night that they had approved it and the new bumper has arrived so I pull this one off last night and more fell off from the inside. I probably could simply pull off the rest if I wanted. I will be picking up the new one today and see how it goes. Very happy the are warranting it with no question asked but I hope the new one does better.
