Polaris 800 Pipe/Can Combos

I got a 2009 Polaris 800 Assault.
I am getting a SLP sigle pipe set, but was wondering if the MBRP canister can be run with the SLP pipe. I like the sound of the MBRP can. Just wondering if other guys have done this or if the SLP can must be used because other cans won't fit with the pipe.
Thanks

Not to sure about using another brand of can with the SLP pipe. SLP makes a different can for the stock pipe than the one they sell with thier pipe. So if you buy the SLP set the can will not work with the stock pipe, if you try to sell it.

SLP pipes are tuned as a "Matched Set".

The 800 CFI's are very sensitive to backpressure changes in the first place.

Changing the can could cause problems in the long run, besides a probable loss in power or runnability.

The MBRP is a significantly louder can... you will "feel" like you have more power because of the sound... but reality may be a different story.

I do not know one way or the other if it will fit though.

Food for thought.

Do your self a huge favor now. Buy the SLP matched pipe and can and add a PCV with some good clutching. I didn't realize how well the pipe and can were working unitl I put the stock pipe with different can on. It's worth the money if you're running N/A.

Yep,.....What Dave said...run the SLP pipe and can togeather....clutching is key on the dragon........

I had an SLP pipe and can on my 2009 d8 last year... a friend of mine sold his sled half way through the year and I bought his mbrp can off of him. the can will match up the slp pipe but I did have to stretch the springs just a little bit. Ran it with this set up for the good second half of the year and no problems... hope this helps good luck!

Same story... IMO... SLP pipe...SLP can.... it will run better.

It doesn't ALL boil down to fuel control.. which is all the "boxes" do currently on sleds.
