03s were a different style det and plug in.

You are correct. This is the head that you would buy now since polaris now longer sells the old style sensor. This is the later version head for the new sensor and was part of the update kit that you buy if you need a new sensor/cdi box (Polaris upgrade kit KIT-800 DETONATION UPDATE
2202645 which includes the head/wiring harness/sensor/cdi box).
Essentially an 04/05 head.
