Is a 01 800 the same, I believe they are. Are they functioning 100% of the time?

I looked it up and the part #'s are different.

CDI part numbers are probably different due to timing curve. The 02 being a VES motor and the 01 not. Coil numbers are different probably only because the ignition wires were a different length due to where they mounted them. I would run the 02 coil if the wires are long enough.
