Wondering if you can fit 2.25 ac 3 pitch track under a 03 edge without major mods.....
Do not want to drop and roll.

With 7 tooth new-style AC avid drivers with the Power claw track... you'll need to change the drivers anyway.

You will need the 7 tooth for adequate clearance and I don't know of any involute drivers that come in 7 tooth.

Sure will fit only mod you need is to run 7tooth drivers, (maybe adjust your gearing) Ive got a set of walbros racing 7tooth 3" pitch standard extroverts on a 2004 driveshaft for you already to go $100 shipped to your door. you just have to cut off every other out side nub. Thats the way one of my sleds is running right now or you can purchase the new style drivers but they are pricey. $262 for drivers plus $40 to have someone press them on. I had the walbros to go the same route I did with my other sled then I saw the new style avid drivers and I thought what the heck I'll try them out on this years build. But the standard is a lot cheaper and thats the way I ran all season last year so I'm not changing that setup. I let you know at the end of the season if there is any difference in the two set ups.

I put a 153 attak in my 03 vertical edge last year, used wahl bros 7 tooth extrovert drivers. I never had to cut or notch anything on the drivers or the track. I did cut the tips of the rails off and put a anti stab kit on.

Same with everyone else, 7 tooth drivers, hopefully Anti-ratchets. Im thinking about putting a 162" under my newer Gen2 with 7 tooths and 19/42 gearing.

I have a 162" 2.25" lug track from a ac on my vertical escape. The 7 tooth avid drivers where expensive.. Had to cut the rails and added a antistab kit.

I am running 19-39 on my 700 SLP single pipe, union bay porting, cheater head, with a 162 PC I think it is about perfect I think you want to be around 80 MPH top speed for mountain riding. the 19-39 with 7t 3" puts you at 79.4MPH.

The stock gearing of 19-39 with 2.52" drivers top speed is 85.8 MPH at 8200 rpm

just by going to the 3" pitch drivers you have already geared down about 5 MPH which is just about right for any 700 or 800

keep in mind that most of these grearing combos you will have to change to a 74 pitch chain

if you go to a bigger bottom gear you have to move up to a 41 which will drop you down another 5MPH which over all i think is a bit too low.

here is the gearing break down

with 7 tooth drivers 3" pitch at 8200 RPM
19-39 2.05 ratio 72 pt chain top speed 79.4 MPH
19-40 not recomended
19-41 2.16 ratio 74 pt chain top speed 75.6 MPH
19-42 2.21 ratio 74 pt chain top speed 73.8 MPH
20-41 2.05 ratio 74 pt chain top speed 79.6 MPH
21-39 NR
21-40 1.90 ratio 74 pt chain top speed 85.6 MPH
21-41 1.95 ratio 74 pt chain top speed 83.5 MPH

my union bay 900 with a 153" pc I have 40-22 which put me at 89.6 MPH about 10 MPH faster than my 700 with 162 but it is a shorter track with 200+ horse power.
