polais 900 rmk speedometer issue

I replaced the belt drive gear bearings and speed sensor on my 05 rmk 900 and now the speedometer and digital read out on the dash doesn't work. I have checked all connections all all looks fine. Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?

carefully check all the wiring going from the speedo down to the front of the sled and also check under the pipe for any melted wires.

Sounds like you either have a short or plugged the sensor in wrong. I would start by unplugging the speed sensor and see if that gets everything else working.

If that does not do the trick not then start unplugging the connections into the digital readout one at a time. That will help which one is causing the problem

If the entire MFD is blank I suspect you have broken a pin on one of your hood connectors, unplug them and carefully inspect for broken / bent pins

Could be a problem with the speed sensor itself... I replaced mine after it went bad with a used one and the instant I plugged it in the entire MFD went dead... unplugged it and everything came back to life and was fine, I ultimately bought a brand new sensor and that fixed my problem.

I checked all of the connectors and didn't find any loose or broken pins. Also unplugged the speed sensor to see if display came back. it didn't. No change with the sensor unplugged. Any other ideas?

OK. Did you see any melted wires like Z-man said. If not the next thing would be to start to unplug all sensors that impact the display one at a time. For example the exhaust temp sensor and air box sensor the see if one of them is causing the short
