I recently bought an 05 800 with some modifications done...
V-Force 3 reeds, 1/2" spacer block and some K&N knock-off pod filters with the K&N snow pre-filters.
So.. My problem is, I found that the spacers had moved the carbs back enough that the bowls of the carbs were getting worn away by the jack shaft. I figure, whatever gain I was getting from these spacers wasn't worth wearing through my carb bowls so I removed the spacers and put everything back together.... only to find that the filters are now resting on the jackshaft.
It should only take a ride or two before I have worn holes in the pre-filter and start wearing on the filters themselves.
Has anyone found a pod filter or kit that fits well on these sleds... without self destructing???
I was thinking about trying the Boyesen RageCage kit but it is pretty expensive to possably have the same issues.
