PMS bogging and missing

I have a 2010 rmk 800 1100miles on sled with PMS kit no other mods, i have about 100miles on the kit and it started bogging and missing when driving about 30mph and the check engine light was on, so i hit the kill switch and the brake.
I checked the plugs and they were dark tan color, no signs of det.
I fired it back up and seemed to run fine, so i dumped a liter of oil in the gas and drove a mile or so and seems ok, does anyone know what might be causing this and should i keep driving and hope for the best?
Thanks Chris

Limp mode

Sounds like it went into limp mode on you. These sleds are quite lean in the midrange especially with the update flash or jan 2010 flash. I found mine to be more sensitive after the fix, as far as going into limp mode. Mine looks safe too when I look at the plugs. What flash are you running?

Im pretty sure its the lastest one, my shop never told me what one they put in it, i'm going to go by the shop and get them to recheck it and i think i'm going to order a pcv w/ autotune so i don't have to guess if its running lean.
Thanks Chris

The PCV is a must imo but do some research before you buy the autotune. You don't just plug it in and leave it alone. You have to input a target afr for it to tune to among other things. So if your not prepared to do a lot of learning on how to tune with one one then you may be better off without it. If your into that then go for it, pretty neat tool.

I agree with Minus40. The auto tune has quite the learning curve if you have never delt with af ratios. If the snow is deep and plugging your intake you will never get a good tuning. I have the whole set up. pcv, auto tune and lcd neat features. but it is far from plug and play. now that it has snowed you will start to see some maps floating around to use with the fix kit.. A nother thing to note is each kind of pipe like a different af. Slp likes 12.1 and dyno port likes 13+, I dont know what stock likes. Keep this in mind.

hey thanks alot for the imput guys, i wanted to run a head and pipe so i figured the autotune might be the best to get it dialed in at the altitude i ride 1800' with -10 to -40temps. Is what im thinking right? Now trying to figure out what head n pipe to get.
Thanks, Chris
