Hello everyone! This is my first post here. I'm so pumped I found this fourm. I've found more info on turbos for sleds in 15 min than I have looking around for the last few months! So I'm planning on putting a turbo on my 02 rmk 700. I'm just wondering if anyone still makes a kit for this sled? I've boosed a car before but never a 2 stroke. So any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

your best bet is to go into the performance modified section, read the carbed 2 stroke turbo thread a few times over.. its takes a few hours, and each time you re-read it, you learn more. by then, you should pretty well have the idea figured out and what you need to do.

turbo 2 strokes are insanely simple, just takes time to get it all right.

Just started on it....Yep that's going to take a little time to get through. Lots of great info!

i don`t suggest starting with a carb motor for your first turbo. there isn`t alot of info for this motor. they can take alot of time and money to get right. if you dont`get the jetting right they blow up really fast. the big strides in turbos were made after fuel injection. all the sensors and inputs required to run fi create a larger safety net. they can compensate to certain degree, while carb motors cannot.
i turboed an 03 800 back in the day and it took 4 tries (2 cylinders, 5 pistons) to get it to run.(it ripped when it ran)
this year i did an 08 700 boondockers pumpgas turbo. i bought the kit used, installed it and ran it. i still had to tune it but you can tune it in an afternoon, because all you have to do is raise or lower the psi numbers in the boon docker box.
jetting was minimum 30 minutes a change, not to mention cold gas running down your arms.

if you have alot of snowmobile tuning knowledge, turbos are fun. if you grumble and swear when your plugs foul and your sled won`t start,or you cant tell the difference between a clutch bog or a carburation bog, run stock

all in all i hope this post is helpfull.

Contrary to the post above that sled is a piece of cake to turbo. Just do some searchin on SW, you will find pics. Also as stated the carb turbo thread is a great place to start.

Try to find someone who might be able to help you out. That is a big help. In Washington, I dont know who you can get to help you. If you dont mind putting out some cash you might want to try Curt@Fastrax. He has all kinds of knowledge in anything sled related.

I actually like my carb turbo better than the efi, it has never left me stranded. It seems like everytime we have a efi turbo we are battling some kind of gremlin. Just my experience.

Thanks guys. Actually my kit is on its way. I picked up a used aerocharger kit from Shane at HM turbos. Im really excited to get started on this project. I plan on doing it over the summer so I can take my time, along with all the other things im doing to this sled.

Outlaw thanks for the positive feed back, im sure you'll see a post or two from me in the carbed turbo thread.

HM Turbos

Call Shane Hart at HM Turbos. You can reach him at 406-273-6111. You will get more information, and good information, from him in a ten minute phone call than you would in a month on the web. Shane has been playing with turbos longer than just about anyone. In fact, Shane was putting turbos in Fords before Ford was putting them in Fords.
