place to live

Try Kremmling. I think its still cheap, and is close to rabbit ears pass. Check some of the other posts for pix of rabbit ears. There are probably employment opportunities in nearby silverthorne.

More info from U.

If you gave a little more info we could help you more.

1. Are you going to work?
2. What type of work?
3. How much on housing are you willing to spend?
4. Cheap and Colorado dont go together.

haha...the precise reason i moved to Colorado....CHEAP living. It all depends on where you are moving from I guess.

depends where you go also! I pay almost double my mortgage (3 bed condo in Empire) for a single room in Steamboat. It's all relative.

And like was said, need a bit more info to be helpful, do you want to be in the sh*tty or in the mountains? Do you want to make money & hate life or be broke & happy?!!

well, nicer is also reletive... i guess, maybe, coming from nyc it would be, never spent any time there..never want to really!

spent enough time in the 'city' in denver for the rest of my life i think...
like myself, everyone in the country is flocking to CO..not only denver..
may as well be the "new" California, which will only increase cost of living here.

its gotten harder n harder to justify it being 'worth it' for the mtns and snow..
after making the move and living here for ~5 years, i think there are better options available.

but then again, i hate cities, hate city life, hate the cluster f of morons..
at least in smaller towns your % may be the same, but you don't run into them as often!

some mtn towns are OK, some are horrible, as in some think that their all that, that its their mountain, their starbucks...cuz they have a $3m+ home & 4 SUV/trucks worth 30k each, etc..

anyway, rant off...

i understand some people need to try things for themselves, see things for themselves. i'm that kinda person.

and don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great people here, even if most of them are orginally from out of state. :P

if it were easy for me to find work (in my field) outside of the 'city' i'd prob have a much happier existance..

and nicer!!!!!!

........but in the right conditions I would like to ride my sled in Central Park
