Somewhere between too dumb to quit and flat earth
Ok i am looking at getting a Challenger Hard 15x144x2.5 pitch=3

What does the pitch matter?

distance between the driver teeth! 3 is better(supposedly)for clearing snow and less resistance.but correct me if i'm wrong!

Ok i was just wondering what is the best pitch or what it matters. I know what it is. I can get a 2.8 or 3 pitch extrovert drivers nad i don't know which to get.

Does anyone know what the stock polaris 440 race sleds use?

I believe it is 2.52 for '05 '06, really I'm not slod on the benefits of changing to a 2.8 or 3" for the weight savings, unless you really want to change drivers and fiddle with getting your gearing the same or you have a specific 3" pitch track in mind it's really only a couple of pounds of rolling weight in most cases. Just an opinion though, I'm sure someone will disagree;)

yes I'm, sure I'm running 2.86 drivers with a 3.0 track on my sled right now..works great rolls nice and smooth

They say that going to a 3 pitch is good for the weight but you loose paddles which is why they made the 2.86 they say its the perfect medium between lost weight and added traction. I think they thought about it way too hard but thats why they did it. I do however like the sizes the 2.86 comes in.
