pistons

i was wondering if wiseco pistons are as good as the polaris ones every one from around here says to stay stock polaris and since im not a polaris fan i cant c any reason to thanks

I have a set of Wiseco's in my 04 800. About 1200 miles on them. No issues. I was looking at my wash the other day and noticed some signs of deto on the MAG side piston, no broken piston so I guess they're tough. I've never run Poo pistons in this motor though so I can't really compare them. Just make sure to warm the motor up before use.

Wiesco are the only forged pistons for snowmobiles on the market , all the rest are cast. The main difference is forged pistons weigh about a third more than cast because of metal density which inherently makes them stronger. Cast pistons are made from molten metal poured into a mold, forged pistons are compressed into a mold, they can handle a lot more punishment than cast.
You do have to make sure you warm the sled up before riding it, because of the metal density the pistons take longer than the block to heat soak and expand, 5 to 7 minutes is sufficient.
