Pistons for the pro

I was advised by a respected engine builder to change my pistons at 1100 to 1500 miles to save my self from a engine failure. I agree after dealing with poos tolerances on piston to cylinder clearance they are wore out when you put them in.This has been std since my first 700 in 02 and I returned them and installed spi pistons which were .045 not .089 for oem
I see RKT has a drop in kit but I already have a head, after market is only showing pistons for a 09 800 that I found. What are my other options???
I might have to sell my head and go for the RKT set up? What is everyone else running?

Would also like the answer to weather RKT's dropins will work with stock or other heads.

Or if the port timing changes req. the head.

I really just want a reliable engine, I don't need more HP, I get where I need to go as is just fine. :)
And if I could save a few hundred w/o the head, that'd be great.

I'm doing both of mine with RTK's set up in the off season. Both 11's. One's NA and the other is boosted.

--Don't forget to adjust the oil pump for more oil to save the crankshaft - at least 32:1

--You can adjust that before your next ride

I already turned up the pump 3 turns. This engine may go 2000 to 3000 with no problem but there is alot to be said for a piece of mind. While in Elk River last weekend I ran into a friend of mine and his wife they were both on pros and was telling me that on thursday one of there group had his 11 go down they found a hole in lower case. I know a friend of a friend dose not count but it sure made me nervous the rest of the day.A piston is one thing a new engine is a whole new story.
I will be tearing out the engine this spring and checking it over from the clutch to the recoil.

Could someone post procedure to turn up oil pump ? I know where it's at, and adjustment screw - in or out ? How many turns = what ratio ?
Please and Thank you.
