the 09 is a little heavier, heard from boost builders that the <2010 piston is a bit more resistant to high temps (the new piston is a bit lighter).
Both will work in either motor.
I think I put 2009 pistons in my 11 when I rebuilt last year because they were considered a bit tougher (and I had a spare set sitting here from our 09 so I gave it a try).
