PISTON RINGS

I am buying canuckleheads turbo kit from him sounds like he's got her all dialed in. But I see that people are saying stock pistons are fine although the stock rings might not be up to par. Does anyone know if you can get good rings to slap on the stock pistons. Any help or advice greatly appreciated

The rings anneal from heat,

I've had nothing but bad luck with doo rings and boost. I can only tell you to keep coolant temps below 135 dehrees, and use 100 octane if you have raves in use.
when valve are down and you have 2 psi ( or anyboost ) of boost your exhaust heat back to the piston face is very very hot..this anneals the ring and it looses its tension..

it shows on the top ring first ,, you can see why..

Wiseco rings are NOT moly filled and do not anneal as easily.
No they do not interchange...

Hey Gus thanx for the info. it sounds like you really know your turbos. Where is the best place to get a set of wisecos. Do you order anything special or just standard pistons do you have to specify which rings you need. Thanx again

Pistons

I am trying the MCB dual ring cast pistons this year....had the skirts swain teched and the domes ceramic coated...time will tell how they hold up.
