the Brits lit one up the other day...they'd tried to hijack a ship and failed a couple days earlier. British Royal Marines were dispatched in RHIBs backed by a helo when they identified them...as they approached and circled the pirates, they were fired upon...needless to say, three pirates dead, Brit Marines onboard and they said the remaining guys were "very cooperative." hehehehe.

seriously read an AP article today.

The pirates have made 30 million this year on ransom....I assume tax free.

The coastal towns of somali love them for the money they bring in. The country is piss poor and has now law so the pirates are safe and welcome.

Also they supposedly bring in chefs to cook meals for all the hostages while waiting for ransom.

Sounds like these guys have a pretty good business going.

Hell can you imagine what 1 million gets you in Somalia? I bet they are buying STDs that haven't even been invented yet.

History channel or Discovery has had a program on these pirates for over a year now. How it has been hush hush and the shipping companies just paying these turds off. Hijack a freifgter full of weapons and now its news, and everyone is concerned around the world.

Am curious why no government, Russian mostly, has not gone in there to get them out. They have a freighter of WEAPONS, guess what they are going to use them for..more hijackings my guess.

WE know where they are, go get them, and end this. A visit from any military to there so called stronghold, stops this. Simple bullies, hit them once end it all..

Just capture an oil tanker, and threaten to dump the oil in the water, then Obama will send special forces with "shoot to kill" orders. Heck if you claimed you were holding the tanker because it was evil oil, you might get sympathy in the US.

The funny part is Britain and the EU are trying to figure out if they can legally shoot at pirates, even if they are boarding a boat. Unless the boat is registered to their countries. I guess their afraid of being sued.

The world has become a fraced up place. But, what's the difference between a bunch of poor Somalians asking for money from rich shipping companies. Or, the poor voting to steal it from the rich tax payers in this country? It's just economic redistribution. Both are done at the point of a gun.
