Pipes?

Just wondering what single pipe is best to run on a carbed king. Just thinking about putting one on and also if i would have to re-jet or anything like that

ive ran both the speed works and the slp. Power on the two feel the same, but the slp fit much better. although i think the slp can is a pos.

I had serious issues with the slp single. In fact my sled ran like $h!t with it on!! Went back to stock and am much happier. I would vote for the speedwerx.

Speedwerx and get the Y pipe too, it ran much better then the SLP I had... especially after I did this to it

ran the speedwerx had no bottom to it. The SLP is a more aggressive pipe and runs a bit hotter. It hits more on the bottom but also really opens up at the top. I switched to SLP from a speedwerx pipe which seemed to be more EFI friendly, my dad liked it on his sled. I also ran the speedwerx Y pipe and an MBRP can...I went to twins so I have the whole set up for sale. In all reality the stock AC pipes aren't a bad pipe to begin with.

As far as jetting goes, I dropped the neddle down one, added 4 sizes for the pipe and another 1 or 2 for the manifold. I ran at 7-10k and didn't have a problem.

I had the same experience with the Speedwerx single. I have been running a ceramic coated stock pipe with better consistency than the Speedwerx and no drop in top end.

So then a modded Bikeman stocker might be the way to go? You can have it ceramichromed and dump the cat shield and insulation? Or just leave it be? I would hate to have nothing to go back to if it turned out to be a flop!

Thanks
Mike

04 king, D&D y-pipe, stock pipe, SLP can modified for front dump, 360 mains,50 pilot,#4 needle, 4000-7000ft. I'm happy:D Power claw and front post were the best mods. :beer;:beer;:beer;

I have a 01 with the 1010 kit on it and i run a speedwerx Y pipe, fat daddy pipe, and their can and it runs awsome and very consistant for me, but i run 0-3000 ft.

I am not familiar with the Bikeman mod but I had a local shop coat my stocker and ran it without the shield with great results. I just picked up a D&D pipe to try but only for weight loss. I was very happy with the coated stocker and will go back to it in a heartbeat if I don't like the D&D.

The only thing I don't like with the aftermarket pipes is you have to jet up! What kind of mileage do they return over the stocker? if a pipe is tuned for a higher RPM I would assume the same?

Mike

I had an slp sing. on my 03 could never get it to run right. I took it off and put slp twins with slp porting and bored carbs and it runns great no messing with jets after i set it up.
